#8844 is a standard rotation water pump for 1970-79 351-C and 351-M/400 engines; The pump is a direct replacement for the original equipment pump (Ford #DOAZ-8501-E) to provide compatibility with all accessories and pulleys; Not for reverse rotation V8s with serpentine drive belt; Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps. Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary; Be sure that fan bolts don’t protrude through the hub so far that they hit the water pump housing; SPECIAL NOTES: Check closely for any interference with drive belts, some filing for clearance may be necessary with some applications
